Stockholm, Sweden -- RECCO® Rescue Systems, the Swedish safety company today announced the appointment of Jackson Hole, Wyoming-based Denny, ink. as its public relations agency of record in North America. Effectively immediately, Denny, ink. will implement a nationwide public relations and social media strategy to broaden brand awareness for the RECCO® Advanced Rescue Technology, a technology that makes avalanche victims searchable to professional rescuers.
“Denny, ink. has a proven track record for helping brands connect with the end consumer,” said Johan Sauer, VP of RECCO®. “Being based in the shadows of the Grand Tetons and longtime users of the product, they have a comprehensive understanding of the avalanche danger present in the mountains, knowledge of the equipment required to stay safe, and they’re very connected to the North American snowsports industry; qualities we believe will help propel RECCO® to the next level,” said John Sauer, VP of RECCO®.
“RECCO® has been a staple in avalanche rescue equipment for more than 30 years. And with more and more people participating in backcountry skiing and touring, more than ever before there is a need for increased safety measures and useable information,” said Chris Denny of Denny, ink.
The two-part technology consists of RECCO® reflectors that are integrated into apparel, helmets, protection gear, and boots; and RECCO® detectors are used by more than 800 organized rescue groups worldwide. Together they enable directional pinpointing of a victim’s precise location using harmonic radar. Complementary in function, the technology is an additional tool that does not interfere with avalanche transceivers, avalanche dogs, or probe lines. RECCO® technology facilitates a faster organized search and increases the chance of being found in time.
“Just like avalanche airbags, transceivers, probes and shovels, RECCO® is another piece of critical search technology that can aid in avalanche rescue. A reflector that is seamlessly integrated into top branded apparel, helmets, back protectors, ski boots, and avalanche transceivers, RECCO® is always operable and ’turned on', can be worn full time, and works internationally. Why wouldn't you use every means possible to be found in an avalanche?” said Denny.
RECCO® is an avalanche rescue system utilized by more than 800 rescue organizations worldwide to facilitate the rapid location of burials. The two-part system consists of a detector used by organized rescue groups and reflectors that are integrated into apparel, helmets, protection gear or boots. Together they enable directional pinpointing of a victim’s precise location using harmonic radar but are not a substitute for a transceiver. Complementary in function, the system is an additional tool that does not interfere with avalanche dogs, transceiver searches or probe lines. The RECCO® system facilitates a faster organized search and increases the chance of being found in time. RECCO AB was founded in 1983 and is owned by its founder Magnus Granhed and the publicly traded investment company Traction AB (listed on OMX Nordic Exchange Stockholm). More info on: www.recco.com
