Rab, the leading British manufacturer of technical mountaineering garments, gear and accessories, is pleased to announce the move of their sales and marketing operations to Boulder, Colorado.
“Rab is very excited to be moving into the Boulder community,†says Matt Gower owner and President of Rab. “We think Boulder is a great area to further establish our authentic outdoor business, while exploring the outdoors in one of the best towns in North America.â€
Gowar made the decision to move to Boulder based on his commitment to grow the Rab brand in the North American market. The company has been selling into U.S. specialty outdoor stores for the past year. Boulder offers a relevant outdoor-lifestyle location for Rab, close proximity to Denver International Airport and a great pool of outdoor enthusiast to recruit and hire. The company plans on hiring five new employees to staff its Boulder office, and hopes to be up and running by Dec. 1, 2008.
In January of 2007 Rab started to make a push in the North American market. Currently there are 43 retail outlets in North America. The company plans on expanding its presence in the United States over the next few years by introducing new products and opening up to new retail partners.
Rab Carrington, one of Britain's foremost mountaineers, established the Rab brand in 1981 to design and manufacture the worlds finest down clothing and sleeping bags. Right from these early days Rab created a reputation for producing garments that are truly for ‘the most extreme conditions in the world' and for searching out the finest technical fabrics to use in their designs. Rab clothing stands among the most technical and innovative on the market, designed to meet the exacting demands of the Scottish mountains that remain the inspiration and testing ground for many of the products. The Rab brand continues to be run by climbers for climbers and all products are tested in extreme environments by our team of mountain athletes.
