Designers and product developers rejoice! The PORON® XRD™ M-Guard, which was successfully introduced last year by the Rogers Corporation High Performance Foams Research and Development Team, is now available in ready-to-use molded shapes to provide wearable protection in a variety of designs.

PORON XRD M-Guards are now offered in five different sizes developed for use where flexibility, ease of motion and impact absorption is critical, such as footwear metatarsal guards, shoulder pads, elbow pads and shin guards. The PORON XRD M-Guards feature Microban® antimicrobial protection to help fight the growth of odor causing bacteria, mold and mildew. This built-in technology won't rub, wear or wash away.

“We developed the PORON XRD M-Guards in five different sizes to accommodate product developers' specific design needs,” said Nicole Perry, Senior Product Development Manager, Rogers Corporation. “Not only do they offer a sleek, slim design that can be seamlessly incorporated into products without bulk, the PORON XRD M-Guards also provide greater wear resistance and meet ASTMF 2143 for metatarsal impact standards. We are proud to have leading brands such as Blundstone and Globe Footwear incorporate PORON XRD M-Guards in their lines of safety footwear,” added Perry.

PORON XRD Extreme Impact Protection material is a high-performance technology that continually surpasses the competition for impact absorption in a thinner, lighter-weight, contouring material. While soft and flexible to the touch, the material instantly forms a protective shell on impact, providing reliable and long-lasting protection.
