Outdoor Research adds website shopping tool to send online customers to local brand retailers

Partnership unites digital and retail channels for seamless shopping experience

In a move designed to bridge the digital shopping experience with local service and convenience, Outdoor Research, the Seattle-based leader in technical outdoor apparel and accessories, has partnered with Locally, an online platform that helps connect consumers with in-stock products at retailers located near them. Moving forward, visitors to the Outdoor Research website will be offered the option to purchase from retailers in their area who stock those items in their store.

When a customer searches for a product through the Outdoor Research website, they now have the option to find a local retailer that carries the product, giving customers an easy way to identify local stores to visit for a hands-on customer service experience, and the opportunity to buy locally. Locally combines the ease of online shopping with the convenience of shopping at a local retailer.

“Our retail partners are an invaluable extension of our brand, by providing customers with expert product education, first-hand demos, and above all, their passion for our gear,” Norin Crawford, Head of Direct Sales at Outdoor Research. “As more than half of our consumers start their shopping search online today but often still seek the hands on service that a brick and morter retailer can provide, we sought a solution that gives the customer the information they need to choose how they prefer to shop, where they want, how they want. The Locally platform is a bridge to allow both local retailers and brands to work together to provide a seamless customer experience.”

Outdoor Research has been committed to the success of its retail partners since the company’s inception in 1981. By teaming up with Locally, Outdoor Research carries that commitment forward by leveraging the platform to provide easy navigation for customers to shop online or locally.
