Outdoor Project Goes Bigger and Bolder with Women in the Wild 2018

A full summer content series and giveaways focusing on women getting outside
Publish date:

PORTLAND, OREGON (May 23, 2018) – Outdoor adventure and travel media platform Outdoor Project—found online at outdoorproject.com—publicly announced today the expansion of its Women in the Wild series for summer 2018. In a true celebration of femininity in the outdoors the series is going bigger and bolder, collaborating with an impressive slate of individuals, organizations and brands from across the outdoor industry. Women in the Wild will focus on fostering community over competition and redefining what it means to be a woman in the outdoors.

The series will include inspiring stories and content from Outdoor Women’s Alliance, Unlikely Hikers, Fat Girl Hiking, Latino Outdoors, SheJumps, Coalition Snow, Hike It Baby, Color Outside, SheExplores, LatinX Hikers, Indigenous Women Hike, and many more amazing individuals and women-focused organizations.

Jen Gurecki, CEO of Coalition Snow, says: “What I love about Women in the Wild is that it’s more than a marketing campaign. It’s a collection of stories and perspectives by women, for women, which is not only something we all hunger for, but it’s something sorely missing in media today.”

Jainee Dial, Co-founder and COO of WYLDER, who also participated in the 2017 content series, added: “As a woman-owned business in the outdoor industry, it’s absolutely crucial for us to build lasting partnerships with like-minded organizations that promote female leadership. Outdoor Project was an amazing collaborator with us in 2017 and brought tremendous exposure to our young business. They conducted their Women in the Wild campaign with integrity and heart and we’re so thrilled to share stories and gear with them again this year!”

Women in the Wild kicks off on July 9, 2018 and will run for two months. During the campaign Outdoor Project will publish over 80 articles and social media posts to inspire all women who love the outdoors, and show that when it comes to passionate engagement with the outdoors, nothing is off limits. Outdoor Project has also organized two separate giveaway packages: One focused on gear for the female adventurer for multiple outdoor activities and the other is a trip to a destination that will be revealed at the launch of the campaign. Brand sponsorships and prize packages will be provided by Trew Gear, Astral, Sensi Bikinis, Coalition Snow, Animosa, and WYLDER, and there is limited space remaining for more Women in the Wild sponsors before the official launch.

Outdoor Project Co-Founder and CEO Tyson Gillard explains, “At Outdoor Project, we have long believed that good things come from spending time outdoors and we are proud to have supported every kind of outdoor enthusiast since our inception in 2014. It is the foundation and core of our brand mission to be the ultimate outdoor resource for every person, no matter their gender. We invite you to be a part of this incredible partnership to share our love and support for every woman out there. Mothers, daughters, sisters, professional athletes to beginners, or anywhere in between, they are all Women in the Wild and now is their time.”
