Optic Nerve’s To Pre-Release SideSwipe Sunglasses At Sea Otter Classic


Independent Eyewear Company Has An Exclusive Offer For Its First Year Attending The “Celebration of Cycling”

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo., March 3, 2014—Optic Nerve has announced plans to attend its first ever Sea Otter Classic in 2014. The independently owned and operated eyewear company will be using this platform to sell pre-release, limited edition models of its new line of interchangeable sunglasses, SideSwipeTM.

The SideSwipeTM sunglasses feature a proprietary, switch-like apparatus that allows users to quickly and easily change lenses with minimal handling. The Sea Otter Classic will mark the first time these exclusive sunglasses will be available for purchase.

Beyond being the first time the new line of sunglasses can be purchased, the SideSwipeTM will also be available in limited edition colors that can only be purchased at the Sea Otter Classic. Colors included coral, neon green, purple and more. Every style and color comes with four lens options: polarized smoke, copper, orange and clear. All lenses will have Optic Nerve’s hydrophobic coating that wicks away water, oil and dust.


The SideSwipeTM made its debut last year at Interbike and has since received a lot of positive feedback from retailers and the media. Optic Nerve Sales and Brand Manger Gregory Niver explains why the initial response has been so favorable: “In terms of intuitiveness and ease-of-use, the SideSwipeTM is step above the similar mechanisms available in the market.”

The SideSwipeTM will be available to the mainstream market in late spring 2014. It will be sold on Optic Nerve’s website as well as in a variety of retailers worldwide. The two initial styles, Amino and Sequence, will retail at $109.
