Optic Nerve and Mountain Shade sunglasses, creators of mid-tier, high-performance optics today announced it will move its current Edgewater headquarters to Wheat Ridge as a result of sustainable growth and development. The new Optic Nerve/Mountain Shades office, over triple the size of the current location, will open for business on February 25, 2008 and is located at 11931 West 48th Avenue in Wheat Ridge, Colo.

“The new space offers a greatly improved infrastructure and will meet the growth demands of our business as well as offer necessary retailer and consumer benefits,” said Bill Cotton, president and co-founder of Optic Nerve and Mountain Shades sunglasses. “Offering a product showroom and on-site testing and meeting facility will allow us to really showcase our new products for retailers and consumers. And, we have great access to I-70 and the Rocky Mountains where we all live and play.”

The new space is 10,000 square feet and will have a new showroom, lounge and extensive conference space for meetings and product displays. The building was designed with foam core concrete block engineering that provides an R Value Range of 22-40, energy-efficient swamp cooling, as well as skylights. Additionally, the building has 62 solar panels that will provide up to 10,000 watts at peak capacity. Annually, the solar photovoltaic (PV) system, which is quiet and produces clean energy with no emissions, will save over 13,200 Kilowatt-hours. Installing one kilowatt of solar power is the equivalent of planting 50 trees.

“Optic Nerve and Mountain Shades is committed to clean and renewable energy,” said Tom Fox, vice president and co-founder of Optic Nerve and Mountain Shades. “Our new space truly illustrates this commitment as well as our increase in size, both in internal personnel and business developments. In addition, we are creating a comprehensive recycled program to include environmentally friendly business practices both in and out of the office for many years to come.”
