DENVER, CO. (January 26, 2011) – Mountain Shades, Inc, the Denver-based sport sunglass manufacturer announced today the promotion of Gregory Niver to Optic Nerve Brand Manager, the premier brand in the company's optical portfolio. Niver will continue to serve in his current role as regional sales manager, but will have the added responsibility of overseeing the overall direction of the Optic Nerve brand, including identifying strategic opportunities for all areas of the business.

Niver has worked for Mountain Shades, Inc. for five years beginning as the marketing coordinator prior to moving into the regional sales manager role in 2008.

“Gregory has done an outstanding job in every role he has played in our company over the past five years,” said Bill Cotton, president of Optic Nerve. “We are excited to have him increase his focus on the success of the Optic Nerve brand.”

In addition to Niver's promotion, the company also announced the addition of a new account executive, Beau Merlini. Merlini will be based at the company's Wheat Ridge headquarters and will be responsible for managing customer service for the company's key accounts.
