WaterGuard™ ANNOUNCES PHILANTHROPIC SUPPORT
FOR TWO UTAH-BASED ORGANIZATIONS
Olympian Dr. Eric Heiden endorses product for his orthopedic patients and philanthropic foundation
Salt Lake City, UT— As WaterGuard LLC launches it’s WaterGuard™ brand of water-tight bathing sleeve for cast and wound protection, the company announced that a portion of the proceeds from every sale will be donated to two Utah-based organizations: SPLORE and the Park City Sports Performance and Orthopedic Foundation.
SPLORE is a Salt Lake City-based non-profit organization specializing in affordable, customized, inclusive recreation and educational programs for people of all abilities. In its more than 30-year history, SPLORE has served over 40,000 individuals with disabilities and special needs, with programs designed to foster independence and build self-esteem. The accessible outdoor adventures are immersed in the Utah wilderness, and include rafting, canoeing, rock climbing, Nordic skiing and dog sledding.
The proceeds from WaterGuard™ will also benefit The Park City Sport Performance and Orthopedic Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to community education, research and charitable care in the areas of sport science, performance and orthopedics. The Park City Sport Performance and Orthopedic Foundation was formed by Olympian Dr. Eric Heiden, five-time gold medalist in speedskating, team physician for the U.S. Speedskating team, and orthopedic specialist and surgeon with Heiden Orthopedics.
The WaterGuard™ sleeve is slip-on, self sealing protection that fits snug enough over casts and injured limbs to keep water out, while remaining comfortable to the user. It slips over arm, leg and knee injury sites and comes in sizes for adults, children and infants. The product is designed for protection of casts, splints, cuts, stitches, abrasions, rashes, skin and burn conditions, intravenous lines, catheters and ports.
Dr. Heiden has been using the WaterGuard™ protection sleeves with his orthopedic patients. “We are very excited to lend our name and endorse WaterGuard™,” says Dr. Heiden. “The positive feedback from our patients who have used WaterGuard™ reinforces our decision and belief in the product.” WaterGuard™ has a patent approval pending, and has been in development since 2005. It was recently released to market and is expected to be widely available from pharmacies, medical supply resources, and other outlets in the coming months.
WaterGuard LLC hopes to make significant philanthropic donations annually to both SPLORE and Heiden’s Park City Sport Performance and Orthopedic Foundation.
WaterGuard LLC is committed to the design, development and marketing of products that make everyday tasks easier for those dealing with adversity, hardships and injury.
