OUTDOOR INDUSTRIES WOMEN’S COALITION HOSTS “RAMP IT UP”, DRAG SHOW FUNDRAISER/FASHION SHOW AT LARGEST U.S. SNOWSPORTS TRADE SHOW, THURSDAY, JAN. 27, 7:30 DURING OPENING NIGHT PARTY
30 Male CEOs, Presidents, and Industry Leaders Don Women's Snowsports Apparel, Sporting Feather Boas and Lipstick
DENVER, Colo. (January 27, 2011) - - Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition, (OIWC), is honoring leading snowsport apparel/outerwear brands by hosting RAMP IT UP, a drag show fundraiser on Jan. 27th from 7:15-8:15 pm at the SIA Snow Show, the largest trade show of its kind in the U.S. Eighty male CEOs, presidents, and Industry leaders will don women's outerwear, sporting feather boas and lipstick. Models include industry icons from Arc’teryx, Mountain Hardwear, Rome Snowboards, Sessions, and SIA among many others. OIWC’s mission is to provide educational programs that help women reach their professional goals. RAMP IT UP takes place in the Korbel Ballroom in the Colorado Convention Center in downtown Denver.
“When the 'real' work of the fashion show ends, the fun begins,” said Sally Grimes, executive director at OIWC. “How would anyone want to miss notable industry veterans walking down the fashion runway, strutting their stuff in the best feminine, yet technical, women’s outdoor clothing?
This fundraiser will help to raise funds for the important work of providing guidance to women looking to establish a career path in this industry. We couldn’t think of a better way to draw attention to these wonderful brands and an important cause.”
“RAMP IT UP is a unique way to call attention to SIA brands that are putting energy behind making high-quality women's-specific products,” said David Ingemie, executive director, SIA. “This is our opportunity to showcase the great women's companies in our industry and to have a good laugh at the same time. I can’t wait to walk down the runway looking my very best – hope my mascara doesn't run.”
Specifically, some models include Tom Berry (Global Marketing Manager, Tecnica), George Curleigh (National Sales Manager, Arc’teryx), Joe Flannery (VP of Global Marketing, Mountain Hardwear), Joel Gomez (CEO, Sessions), David Ingemie (Executive, Director SIA), and Frank Whiting (Principle, The Whiting Group).
