NRS Clearwater Drifter Wins Best of Show at IFTD

The NRS Clearwater Drifter inflatable drift boat won “Best of Show” at the 2012 International Fly Tackle Dealer Expo for the “Personal Watercraft” category.

Moscow, Id – NRS is pleased to announce that its Clearwater Drifter inflatable drift boat won “Best of Show” at the 2012 International Fly Tackle Dealer Expo for the “Personal Watercraft” category. Each year the IFTD tradeshow brings together manufacturers of fly fishing equipment and fly tackle retailers from around the world, and the IFTD Awards honor the best new products brought to market.

We're very excited to have won this award,” says Mark Deming, NRS Marketing & Communications. “We've put four-plus years of hard work into developing the Clearwater Drifter, and it's great to have that work recognized. Seeing such an influential group of people be so enthusiastic about our product is huge.”

Combining the time-tested design of a drift boat with the utility of a raft, the inflatable, self-bailing Clearwater gives anglers a versatile and resilient rowing craft for pursuing fish. Made of tough drop-stitch PVC material, the Clearwater inflates to a rigid 9 psi, creating a stout, framed dory that handles rocks and shallow water like a raft while tracking like a traditional drift boat. Its short waterline ensures it anchors well and rows swiftly, and the break-down frame provides casting stations for two anglers and a comfortable rowing position for the guide. When disassembled, the Clearwater stows easily in a garage, car or small aircraft, or can be shipped UPS to a fishing destination.

“This boat is a game changer,” says Deming. “While we don't expect the Clearwater to replace traditional drift boats, it gives anglers an important new option. It's easier to transport and store than a hard boat, and it performs better on small rivers and in low-water conditions.”

With a suggested retail price of $5,995, the NRS Clearwater drifter will be in stock and available for delivery in spring 2013.
