The official tally is just in and it is a tie. Coming off an impressive year of sales in their respective territories, Mountainsmith's BRM Reps from the Upper Midwest led by Bruce and Michelle Marsh and the Frontier Group from the Pacific NW headed up by John Morioka and Scott Ohsman both capture the company's 2012 Anvil Award for Agency of the Year…in this case, Agencies. In a shaky economic environment, both groups led a surge in sales and market share in their individual territories to secure the honor. The announcement was made by Jay Getzel, director of sales and marketing for the Colorado-based supplier of outdoor packs and bags.

A strong work ethic, combined with exemplary product and service back-up, enabled both groups to take home the honor. Their goal was to actively maintain existing dealer relationships while taking advantage of their respective territories in order to build the Mountainsmith brand. They focused on providing targeted product assortments that fit the needs of their markets.

“2012 marked another strong year for the Mountainsmith brand in terms of sales, profit and margin and our efforts were buoyed by the exceptional efforts of the BRM Reps and Frontier Group,”
commented Jay. “We thank them for their continued dedication to top notch customer service, innovative selling programs and support of our iconic brand.”

“The Frontier Group is proud to win this great award,” commented Scott. “The Anvil is a great part of this brand's heritage and future. We could not have reached our goals without the incredible effort and hard work from everyone on the Mountainsmith team and the strength of this partnership is a big reason we have been able to succeed.”

“I'm speechless but honored to receive the award, knowing that the success is due to a solid, value driven product line and exceptional management support,” added Bruce.

Mountainsmith's commitment to innovation began in 1979 and continues to the present with a full line of active lifestyle products. The quality and comfort of all Mountainsmith products—technical backpacks, travel storage systems, luggage, camera bags, as well as the lumbar pack icons—set the standard for the worldwide outdoor marketplace. Mountainsmith manufactures, markets, and distributes an expanding group of products designed to meet the demands of travel on and off the trail, through airports, and anywhere that carrying-comfort is essential. Mountainsmith products are sold worldwide.
