Three hundred Outdoor Retailer attendees joined Mountain Khakis to celebrate their membership with the Conservation Alliance by donating $5 for a trip down the MK Ice Luge on Sunday evening at the show. Mountain Khakis donated an additional $20 per ticket, bringing the total raised for the Conservation Alliance to $7500.

“The ice luge was a fantastic and entertaining way to celebrate our new membership in the Conservation Alliance,” said Founding Partner Mac Lackey. “As the environment is the very backbone of our industry, we continue to emphasize the importance of supporting non-profits who work to protect it.”

For those otherwise occupied on Sunday evening at the show, the ice luge was carved from four separate blocks of ice by Salt Lake City resident Chad Swan, an expert sculptor who honed his craft during the 1996 Winter Olympics. The Mountain Khakis ice luge featured five “runs,” each containing a different combination of liquor and juice.

“We're excited that Mountain Khakis joined The Conservation Alliance, and is already going above and beyond to support our efforts to protect wild places,” said John Sterling, Executive Director of the Alliance. “The Ice Luge promotion proves we can have fun while supporting important conservation efforts.”
