Macpac Expands in US Market

Macpac Expands in US Market and Adds 2 New Sales Reps
Publish date:

Macpac Wilderness Equipment, a leading New Zealand outdoor company, has expanded its presence in the US market and has hired two additional sales reps to service the growing business.

Since first entering the US market three years ago, Macpac has opened 45 key dealers, strategically located throughout the US, and has doubled its business each year. Most of the growth has occurred in Macpac's foundation accounts which have proven to be a successful strategy for the company in its Australasia and European businesses.

To manage the growing New England and Mid-Atlantic states, Macpac has hired 15 year outdoor veteran Andy Correll, who represents highly regarded outdoor brands Lowa, Tecnica, Pacific Outdoor Equipment and Life is Good. For the Rocky Mountain Territory, Macpac has added Tim DeYoung who has been in the outdoor and ski industries for the past 30 years representing companies such as AKU, Breezer, Maker AT and Volkl.

To continue the growth in the US market, Macpac will introduce at the upcoming Outdoor Retailer Summer Market a revolutionary load-carrying system called the Liberator™ which “grips” onto a person's skeleton and relieves pressure on the gluteus muscles making it easier to carry heavy loads over tough terrain. The Liberator technology will be offered on a selection of Macpac's overnight trekking packs and technical daypacks. Dealers visiting the OR Show can also expect Macpac to showcase updates to its comprehensive collection of sport packs, child carriers, adventure travel packs, sleeping bags, tents and technical clothing.
