Lorpen (www.lorpen.com), a leading designer and manufacturer of high performance socks for outdoor and sport enthusiasts, announces changes in the management structure at Lorpen North America. Effective immediately, existing employees will take on new roles and shift responsibilities in an effort to maximize company growth and keep up with increased demand for Lorpen products throughout North America. These significant infrastructure and production changes will include Imanol Muñoz and Garbiñe Maia who are based in Spain, Don Morrison, Bruce Barrows and Matt Swanson who are based in the Toronto office.

Imanol Muñoz will expand his role as International Sales and Marketing Manager and be more directly involved in the development of the Lorpen brand in North America. “2013 marks the 15th anniversary for Lorpen and as a part of that anniversary we are developing a more cohesive brand plan for Lorpen and for our dealer support,” said Muñoz. “These changes at Lorpen North America will allow us to be better partners with our dealers and the consumer in a very competitive segment of the outdoor industry.”

Don Morrison will become the acting General Manager and oversee the day-to-day activities of the company, and distribution system. Morrison's long involvement in the outdoor and ski industry gives him a great deal of experience with retailers, he is familiar with what the retailers need and when they need it.

Bruce Barrows will step up his involvement in the marketing and communication department and continue to manage the sales force in both Canada and the U.S. Barrow's ultimate goal will be to improve the dealers' turns and their margin in the sock business. Working with Barrows, Katy Gaenicke with KGPR Inc. will directly focus on consumer and trade press information and retailer relationships for the Lorpen brand.

Matt Swanson will now be responsible for all customer service operations and movement of the goods from the factories in Mexico and Spain to North America. Swanson's experience working with the factories will help him and his staff develop a stronger planning and replenishment system to monitor the deliveries and meet the dealer's needs on a timely basis.

Garbiñe Maia has been promoted to Lorpen Product Development and Private Label Coordinator for all global customers. Maia has been working in the development and design department at Lorpen for the past five years and has a strong understanding of the company's manufacturing capabilities and ability to drive this segment of Lorpen's global business. She will work directly with customers and with each of the international sales groups to further enhance global efficacy for the Lorpen brand.

“This restructured management team has complementing skills that allow them to work together, resulting in a group dedicated to providing the best service possible to dealers in North America,” continued Imanol Muñoz. “These changes will allow Lorpen to better meet the needs of Lorpen retailers we experience strong growth in both the United States and Canada. “
