LifeStraw®, a global leader in developing innovative filtration and purification products for safe drinking water, appointed Adam Janecka as head of retail sales, effective immediately. Janecka brings over 20 years of experience leading domestic and global sales teams at consumer electronics, sporting goods and technology brands including Magellan GPS, Outdoor Tech and Eton.

Janecka’s responsibilities include overseeing all direct and multi-channel sales efforts, while supporting LifeStraw’s Giving Back Through Retail initiatives utilizing revenues from product sales to provide clean water to communities in need around the world.

“Adam’s proven track record of building and leading collaborative sales teams and growing brands makes him an ideal fit,” said Alison Hill, managing director of LifeStraw. “His global sales expertise aligns with LifeStraw’s focus on providing safe water solutions worldwide.”

Most recently, Janecka was VP of Sales at Outdoor Tech, where he lead initiatives with key national and regional retailer accounts including Amazon, Target, Apple, Dick’s Sporting Goods, L.L.Bean, Nordstrom and REI, increasing the start-up’s valuation from $1 million to over $10 million from 2012 – 2016.

“With its inspiring global mission and industry-leading innovation, joining the LifeStraw community is a natural progression for me,” said Janecka. “I look forward to helping grow LifeStraw’s retail presence and supporting the company’s mission to give consumers and communities in need access to safe drinking water.”

About LifeStraw: LifeStraw focuses on innovation of technology that converts microbiologically contaminated water into safe drinking water with products that are designed to fit the needs of the people that use them. The first LifeStraw was the LifeStraw Guinea Worm Filter introduced in 1996, which has been instrumental in the near-eradication of Guinea worm disease. In 2005, the personal LifeStraw filter was introduced for use in developing countries, and the technology has since been time-tested in some of the harshest environments and humanitarian emergencies since then. Today, LifeStraw is used in 64 countries and includes filters and purifiers for households, clinics, schools, and for outdoor recreation, travel and everyday personal use. LifeStraw is sold in North America in retail stores and online at www.lifestraw.com.
