Life Fitness Advisory Board Member Named Fitness Educator of the Year

Len Kravitz, Ph.D., associate professor of exercise at the University of New Mexico and Life Fitness advisory board member, was named Fitness Educator of the Year by the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

SCHILLER PARK, Ill. – December 07, 2006 – Len Kravitz, Ph.D., associate professor of exercise at the University of New Mexico and Life Fitness advisory board member, was named Fitness Educator of the Year by the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

Kravitz taught university level courses and has directed numerous research projects, including “Development of a Submaximal Test to Predict Elliptical Cross-trainer VO2max,” “Physiological Responses to Lower Body and Combined Upper and Lower Body Exercise” and “The Physiological Benefits of Aquatic Exercise.” In addition to lecturing nationally and internationally on topics relating to exercise, fitness and nutrition, Kravitz is an accomplished writer and has been published in a variety of health and fitness journals.

The Life Fitness Advisory Board consists of 14 of the nation's most renowned professionals in exercise science. ACE recently announced the 2006 achievement awards at the International Fitness Symposium in Las Vegas. Awards were presented for Personal Trainer of the Year, Fitness Instructor of the Year and Fitness Educator of the Year in recognition for outstanding contributions to the fitness industry.

The ACE achievement awards were developed in 1999 to honor fitness professionals that have excelled in the areas of client development, training techniques, successful marketing and revenue generation.
