PORTLAND, Ore.Korkers expands anglers’ performance traction options and continues its commitment to combating the threat of invasive species, with the introduction of Kling-On and Studded Kling-On sticky-rubber soles for its line of industry-leading wading boots. Kling-On interchangeable soles are designed to excel both in and out of the water, and feature Korkers’ proprietary sticky-rubber formula with a uniquely engineered tread pattern. The spongy high-friction rubber soles provide added durability and unparalleled traction, making them ideal for scrambling trails, rock hopping, and wading a variety of river conditions. Studded Kling-On soles feature 100 percent tungsten carbide spikes for extra bite in slippery environments.

As the only wading boot manufacturer to offer interchangeable soles, Korkers provides an exclusive solution to help protect waters from the spread of invasive species while enhancing angler safety and performance. Through its unique OmniTrax Interchangeable Sole System, Korkers empowers anglers to fish responsibly with a range of specific outsoles – from traditional felt to sticky rubber – that meets the demands of the environment.

“Korkers’ heritage has been to give our consumers a variety of traction solutions that meet their specific needs to optimize their fly fishing and angling experiences,” says Korkers Director of Sales Brian Chaney. “Our new Kling-On soles equip anglers with yet another high performance option for fishing conditions where felt soles cannot be used.

“Korkers is uniquely positioned to offer a solution allowing anglers to approach and fish without compromising the river itself,” Chaney continues. “We spent several years researching, testing and obtaining feedback on felt outsole alternatives and the results clearly show there are situations where felt is the most effective traction option.”

Chaney also notes that traction safety varies by region and is affected by specific conditions and regulations, which further support the advantage of offering multiple soles.

“Feedback from the field on the new Kling-On outsoles has been enthusiastic, and we are thrilled to be bringing this traction technology to the market this season,” concludes Chaney.

The Kling-On outsoles represent the latest addition to the company’s unique OmniTrax Interchangeable Sole System, which includes six other soles to provide a range of traction options on its boots, shoes and sandals. The Kling-On ($29.99 MSRP) and Studded Kling-On ($34.99 MSRP) soles are compatible with all Korkers interchangeable footwear styles. Both new soles come in men’s whole sizes 6 – 15, and are available at leading fishing specialty stores for the spring 2009 season.
