KEEN Launches Give-With-Purchase Program to Fund River Clean-Up Tour

Portland, OR – March 5, 2014 – This spring, KEEN Footwear will partner with River Network to support 14 river clean-ups across the U.S. through a give-with-purchase program at participating retail locations.

“KEEN’s commitment to protecting the places we play has been a pillar of our company from day one,” says Chris Enlow, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at KEEN. “We know KEEN retailers and fans are just as passionate about this and our Give With Purchase program is a perfect way for us to make a positive difference in local communities.”

KEEN will donate $5 for every pair of KEEN.CNX shoes sold at participating retailers, up to $50,000. More than 80 retailers will host the program for a two-week period from March 1 to April 30. Of those retailers, 24 have made the additional commitment to match KEEN’s $5 donation to support a local non-profit of their choosing in their area.

River Network, a non-profit organization which helps to unite different river and watershed restoration and conservation organizations across the US, will use the donations from KEEN and its retailers to support 14 clean-ups across the nation.

"KEEN is a great partner and we're excited to see the positive impacts the cleanups will have on our nation's rivers," said Nicole Silk, president of River Network. "Beyond removing tons of trash and debris, programs like this help get new volunteers involved and inspired to make an on-going difference in their communities."
