We just got back from our first Life is Good Festival in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on May 16th. 12,000 people showed up on a beautiful blue-sky day to enjoy great music and play all over the field. Find a great slide show of images and a video that you can access here.
And now attention is fully on Boston (details and a link below). Our Boston Festival will take place on Saturday, June 20th on The Boston Common. 100% of the $ raised through our event will benefit Project Joy, a non-profit focused on children hurt by poverty, violence, and loss. Many of you have helped us in the past and I greatly appreciate it. You can help us this year in any one of several ways:
- Register for our fundraising walk, the Good Walk for Kids, and raise funds online. To register and quickly set up a fundraising page, click here.
- Sponsor me as a walker. Go to http://www.firstgiving.com/bertjacobs1 and click on "sponsor me now."
- Recruit others – friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues – to walk and then join us following the walk for a wonderful day of music and play on Boston Common. The walk begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 16th and is followed by the Festival, which runs from 11 – 5 p.m. See promotional copy below.
- Sound the trumpets! Send out the word about the Life is good Festival to all in your network. Again, see below for ready-made copy to email.
Thanks a million in advance, and I hope to see you on The Common!
Life is good Festival on Boston Common, Saturday, June 20th, 11-5PM
Mark your calendars! It’s free fun just one day before Father’s Day at the Life is good Festival on Boston Common. Our here-comes-the-summer outdoor celebration features an amazing music lineup including five-time Grammy and Lifetime Achievement Award winners The Blind Boys of Alabama, rising national star Brett Dennen, and family-favorite Stevesongs. We’ll keep you rockin’ all day with food and drink aplenty plus a colorful mix of good-time games and activities for all ages.
The day also features a high-energy fundraising walk, the Good Walk for Kids, a scenic 3-mile route that can't be beat. You'll start at Boston Common, walk along the new Rose Kennedy Greenway to see it all in bloom, stroll along the Harbor Walk with beautiful ocean views, and return to the Common for Festival music and fun. It’s a perfect family and friends outing and it directly helps kids. Now more than ever, a growing number of children who have been hurt by violence, poverty, and loss need our help. To register for the Good Walkclick here.
All funds raised at the Festival will be directed by the Life is good Kids Foundation to exceptional Boston-based nonprofit Project Joy, focused on healing and strengthening our poorest, most vulnerable preschoolers.
