Reigning World Freestyle Kayak champ Eric “EJ” Jackson has formed partnerships with two of the paddlesports industry's most innovative manufacturers, Immersion Research and Astral Buoyancy Company.

A comprehensive partnership with IR trades gear and financial support to Jackson for his input and influence on product development and brand building. IR has charged Jackson with establishing an enduring reputation for Best of Class product and image in the technical outerwear category in kayaking.

“Immersion Research is a company that is on the verge of a major breakthrough in durability, overall quality, fit, and simplicity,” said the founder/namesake of Jackson Kayak. “I am proud to be a part of the team to help deliver on that promise.”

Jackson was also psyched to announce his sponsorship by Astral. Jackson said he's been a fan of the product designs of Astral founder Philip Curry since Curry's first business venture, Lotus Designs.

“Philip Curry has created a legacy in this market as the most innovative PFD designer and manufacturer,” Jackson said, who has used Curry designed PFD's since he started many years ago. The sponsorship also includes Jackson's son and rising star, Dane.

According to the Astral website, in 1993 Curry pioneered the use of Cordura® in personal flotation devices (PFD). This spring, Curry introduced the world's first breathable lifejacket incorporating his patent-pending Airescape technology. Reflecting Astral's environmental ethos, the groundbreaking lifejacket known as the V-Eight™ is constructed with 100 percent PVC-free foams to minimize impact on the natural environment.
