Salt Lake City, Utah Outdoor Retailer Winter Market Booth 5042, January 27, 2007 – As one of the founding supporters of Leave No Trace in Australia, Sea to Summit is always inspired to create products that make it easier to follow the Leave No Trace ethic. Sea to Summit USA, distributor of Sea to Summit products, introduces the newest, strongest and most compact tool to support the latest research in minimizing backcountry impact by humans. The iPood!™ is a fecal waste disposal trowel that redefines innovative lightweight design (and poddy training) with features to support responsible backcountry or outback travel:

•Lightweight, compact inside its own stuff sack; weighs only 2.6 ounces (75 grams)
•Multifunctional features enable minimal impact with a hollow handle to store lighter/toilet tissue; trowel blade slides open along the handle to full length or collapses to its compact size with a button lock
•Designed to support Leave No Trace practices
•Strong ultra light 6066 - T6 aluminum alloy
•Hard anodized blade to Rockwell C 70
•Four fun colors
•Suggested Retail $16.95; available May 1 2007 at Sea to Summit retailers

Proper Use of iPOOd!â„¢ Starts at Booth 5042 during the OR Winter Market, January 27 to January 30
“If you have to shovel it, we have a compact lightweight method that is environmentally and politically correct,” muses newly American (and concurrently Australian) co-owner of Sea to Summit, Andrew Dunbar.

“We created this official outdoor poddy-training station to remind everyone – even so many seasoned outdoor adventurers – that the only thing we take lightly is the weight of our gear rather than our conservation practices,” said Shelley Dunbar, co-owner of Sea to Summit USA.

The iPood and I'm Proud! Training Station uses kitty liter, new iPood lightweight compact titanium trowels, and a step-by-step set of instructions on how to dig it right using Leave No Trace instructions. Each of those principled and poddy-trained practitioners is awarded a badge and an entry to make them eligible for a Sea to Summit Leave No Trace backcountry gear trio of a Kitchen Sink, a Trash Dry Sack and the new compact iPood! lightweight trowel. One winner per day is drawn from entries 5:30 p.m. at Booth 5042.
