Boulder, Colo. (August 1, 2016)- Salewa, a technical mountain brand based in the heart of the Dolomites, introduces the ultimate mountain training hybrid shoe designed with an exclusive Michelin® outsole that meets the needs of running, hiking and biking all in one shoe.
The new Multi-Track shoes are envisioned for multi-sport enthusiasts looking for a lightweight and versatile one-shoe quiver with the ability to transition from hiking rough terrain to running technical trails to hopping on the mountain bike.
Salewa teamed up with Michelin®, a world leader in rubber compounds and tires, to source Michelin®’s Outdoor Compound for an exclusive technical sole featuring special tread lugs and aggressive structures for optimal traction and adaptability on uneven to hard pack terrain. The forefront of the sole hosts a special thread pattern and design for a secure, non-slip interface and compatibly with flat MTB pedals, all without compromising the shoe’s walkability and comfort.
Multi-sport shoes are no new invention, however conventional models tend to be heavy and less than ideal for all three activities. The Multi Track hybrid design saves weight while achieving the stability of a hiking boot with the shock absorbency of a running shoe. The lightweight, cushioning midsole with TPU injected inserts provide an extra level of stability on steeper terrain. Other key features include fast adjusting laces that don’t snag on bike chains and odor-eliminating Ortholite Footbeds for long-lasting comfort.
