Research Triangle Park, NC – Highgear, a division of Implus, has partnered with Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) as the official timing sponsor of the 2011 Nor'easter, the Northeast's premiere outdoor festival. Taking place September 23 - 25, 2011 in Burlington, VT, the three-day event will include climbing, cyclocross and trail running with professional athletes, as well as the EMS Climbing School, a volunteer conservation project, a social camping atmosphere for overnight guests, and musical performances from headliners including G. Love & Special Sauce, RJD2, River City Extension, Vermont locals Aunt Martha and many, many more.

A portion of the weekend's proceeds will benefit the Conservation Alliance, an outdoor advocate group that engages outdoor businesses to help protect and conserve threatened wild places for their habitat and recreation values.

In addition to providing hands-on product demonstrations to competitors and other festival attendees, Highgear will also provide the official time keeping equipment for the Nor'easter Cyclocross competition, the Fun Run, and other trail running activities that will take place during the weekend. Altitude gains tracked by Highgear altimeters will be incorporated into event race courses as well.

“Being a part of the Nor'easter was a unique experience for Highgear in 2010 and we're proud to be a part of such a great event for outdoor enthusiasts from the New England area again this year,” says Mike Hosey, Founder and VP of Sales for Highgear. “The combination of sports, music, instruction from EMS Outdoor Schools, as well as the conservation effort is truly special.”

Tickets are on sale now. For more event details, visit www.noreasterems.com
