GreatEscape2008: The Global Scavenger Hunt's event will take place over 23-days between April 11th and May 3th, 2008. Teams of two will be competing in this annual travel adventure and cultural immersion that will travel from San Francisco to Toronto—the long way! Intrepid Indiana Jone's (and Jane's) will be taking A Blind Date With The World™ visiting Lost Cities, participating in exotic local customs, ferreting out bizarre clues, tasting uncommon delicacies, and riding every sort of four-legged beast available, while conducting cultural-oriented scavenges on four continents and at least 10 countries. The intrepid adventurers will not know any of their impending destinations and also be limited to public transportation in those exotic locales.

The winners of The Global Scavenger Huntâ„¢ travel adventure competition will have battle tested the limits of their High Sierra gear by traveling over 40,000 kilometers in mountains, deserts, urban and rural landscapes alike. The travel adventure competition is also the platform for raising a $1 million goal for international humanitarian organizations including: KIVA, Partners in Health, Doctors Without Borders, CARE, UNICEF, and International Special Olympics among others.
