OAKLAND, Calif. – Haiku by Sharon Eisenhauer, Inc., creator of poetically functional accessories for women, has been named to the San Francisco Business Times “Top 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies” list for 2010. The San Francisco Business Times announced the list on October 20 at a reception at the Hilton San Francisco honoring recipient CEOs.

Of the 100 private companies, Haiku ranked 18th, with 221-percent growth from 2007 to 2009. Additionally, Haiku ranked fourth of 35 in the category of Fastest-Growing Private Companies in the East Bay.

“We have grown a great deal since the inception of Haiku in 2004, but to be recognized for our growth within the entire community is quite an honor,” said Sharon Eisenhauer, owner and designer of Haiku. “The Haiku team has a great deal to be proud of—from our staff in Oakland and our independent reps across the country, to our exceptional dealers and end customers, everyone has contributed to our achieving this ranking.”

This year marks the 19th year that the San Francisco Business Times has published the region's 100 Fastest-Growing Private Companies. The List spotlights the region's most interesting, promising companies that represent the best of the entrepreneurial spark and drive long associated with the Bay Area. The San Francisco Business Times partners with PricewaterhouseCoopers to validate the publications' documentation. To be eligible for the 2010 award, companies are ranked by percentage of revenue growth increase between 2007 and 2009, and companies are required to have a minimum of $200,000 in revenue in the base year 2007.

Launched in 2004, Haiku is now available in close to 500 doors nationwide. The company has experienced double-digit growth over the last several years, and is expanding its executive team and looking to hire a new Sales & Marketing Manager. Haiku is growing its product offering as well, and just launched a new eco collection called Rumi in the Fall of 2010. Rumi bags are made with cyclePET, which is created from 100-percent post consumer recycled beverage bottles.
