GoPro Sponsors EddyFlower Vertical Challenge to Benefit First Descents

GoPro is a sponsor for the second annual EddyFlower Vertical Challenge kayak contest beginning May 15.

Pescadero, Calif., – GoPro, a manufacturer of wearable digital cameras for sports, is a sponsor for the second annual EddyFlower Vertical Challenge kayak contest beginning May 15. As part of the sponsorship, GoPro will provide seven Helmet HERO helmet and kayak-mountable cameras to be given away to winners of the contest as well as a camera for use during the event.

The EddyFlower Vertical Challenge requires participants to paddle as much vertical gradient as possible in 32 days with sick prizes awarded to top finishers. Paddlers from all states and all skill levels are welcome to huck and boof their way to vertical victory in one of six divisions (Class V, IV, III, Weekend Warrior, and women's). The event commences at sunrise on May 15 and closes at sunset on June 15, with an awards ceremony in Golden, Colo. after the event.

The Vertical Challenge incorporates a fundraising effort to support First Descents, an organization that offers kayaking and other outdoor experiences to support young adults with cancer. The goal is for each member of a team to raise as much money as possible during the contest to support First Descents. Prizes will also be awarded for teams and individuals that generate the most donations. For additional information about the competition, visit EddyFlower's Web site here.
