Vancouver, B.C (November 6, 2014) – G3 Genuine Guide Gear loves getting first turns and this fall the leading, independent backcountry ski and splitboard brand is having a contest to find out if you share the same First Turns Fetish. Do you go the distance and drive, bike, and then hike for twenty turns on new snow high in the mountains? Or do you put on your skis and make hop turns down that grassy hill up the street when the first October rains hit? Show G3 your feverish dedication to skiing and riding by sharing photos or videos of your #FirstTurnsFetish—with or without snow—with the chance of winning $1,100 worth of G3 gear.

From October 27 to November 21, participants can submit photos or a fifteen second video via Instagram and tagging it @g3gear #FirstTurnsFetish to enter to win G3 gear and swag. Tagged posts should showcase an individual’s commitment to getting first turns before the lifts start spinning, or atleast before winter is in full swing. Creativity, effort and wit are encouraged.

“We want to see creative entries that show people’s passion and commitment to starting their skiing and riding season as early as they can, whether it’s on grass, snow, or indoor training equipment,” said Gord Bailey, VP Sales and Marketing at G3. “G3 is committed to making the highest quality backcountry ski and snowboard gear and want to see just how dedicated our users and fans are to using that gear and how excited they are about the upcoming winter.”

Each week judges will pick a few entries as finalists. After the four weeks of finalists are chosen, they will be pitted against one another for the grand prize draw. Finalists will win a variety of weekly prizes ranging from G3 shwag to the grand prize: G3 backcountry gear worth $1,100.

Weekly Prizes Include: G3 shwag

Grand Prize for Skier: G3 Synapse Carbon 101 Skis and one pair of Alpinist Climbing Skins.

Grand Prize for Snowboarder: G3 Black Sheep Carbon X3 Splitboard and one pair of Alpinist Climbing Skins.
