Fjällräven, the Swedish heritage outdoor brand known for producing high-quality outerwear, apparel and gear since 1960, earned the 2018 Backpacker Editors’ Choice Award for the Abisko Trekking Tights. The award was presented to Fjällräven by Backpacker Editor-In-Chief Dennis Lewon and Associate Gear Editor Eli Bernstein at the 2018 Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show in Denver, Colorado.

“Our design team made an entirely new segment when they crafted the Abisko Trekking Tights. They’re perfect for all kinds of trekking in the mountains and other rough terrain. And, we are honored to be recognized by Backpacker’s editors,” says Nathan Dopp, President of Fjällräven North America. “The Abisko Trekking Tights combine the freedom of movement of tights with the durability of a pair of trekking trousers. They are a refreshing take on what an outdoor pant can and should be.”

The Backpacker Editors’ Choice Award is granted annually to products that Backpacker editors judge to be superior after going through rigorous testing. The honor is based on design and performance in the backcountry. The complete list of Backpacker’s 2018 Editors’ Choice Award winners will be announced in the magazine’s April Spring Gear Guide issue, hitting newsstands early March 2018.

“Over the course of a week-long trip in New Zealand, our entire team ended up wearing the Abisko Trekking Tights at some point. They granted us unfettered movement, kept us cool on strenuous sections of trail and never bagged out or sagged over days of hiking through rain, mud and wind,” says Backpacker’s Eli Bernstein.

The award-winning Abisko Trekking Tights are available online at fjallraven.us and nationwide at Fjällräven retail locations and at retailer partners. For more information regarding the Abisko Trekking Tights and Fjällräven, please visit fjallraven.us.
