Mammut Sports Group, providers of Swiss quality alpine and snow gear and apparel, has added two new athletes to the U.S. team. Extreme telemark skier Dylan Crossman and extreme skier Tony Rossi have joined the Mammut snow team roster, and will represent the brand in freeride competitions and grassroots initiatives.

Both Crossman and Rossi honed their skills on the mean slopes of Vermont, where if the terrain doesn't kill you, the unpredictable and often undesirable conditions will. Crossman grew up skiing Mad River Glen (Ski It If You Can!) and Rossi has been a Burke Mountain local from the age of 2. The natural migratory path of passionate skiers lured Crossman and Rossi to Utah's legendary powder, where their winters are now spent exploring untracked lines in the Wasatch range.

Crossman's most recent accomplishments include 1st place at Crested Butte's Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships in 2006 and 2007. Crossman also took 1st place at the 2006 Alpine Meadows Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championship, as well as the Alta Town Slalom Race Series.

Rossi is featured in the aptly named “Born From Ice”, a ski film by New England-based Meathead Films, and he can also be spotted on the North American Freeride comp circuit.

“Working with Mammut is a big next step for my skiing, as Mammut will be supporting me with quality gear and a willingness to help me reach some remote areas to further explore skiing,” said Rossi. “Mammut's gear is perfectly suited for what I'm doing, with innovative avalanche safety equipment, their alpine and snow outerwear, and the ropes that we need to rappell 100-200 feet into chutes no one has been in. I'm looking forward to working with the Mammut Sports Group team in the Vermont office, as they're willing to listen to product feedback and are tuned in to the skiing community as a whole.”

“These two epitomize the spirit of Mammut's snow line,” said Ian Connor, marketing coordinator and athlete team manager for Mammut Sports Group USA. “They're out there finding new lines and pushing the limits of the sport, and they need the best quality technical apparel and gear to get there.”
