El Naturalista Expands Project Atauchi into Africa

Continuing the company’s humanitarian work and broadening its outreach

El Naturalista, the Spanish based manufacturer of eco-friendly, fashionable footwear and accessories, is pleased to announce that the cornerstone of the company's charitable efforts, Project Atauchi, is expanding into Africa.This latest effort demonstrates the company's deep social conscience and unwavering commitment to social responsibility.

Project Atauchi's expansion into Africa begins in Arusha, located in the North of Tanzania. El Naturalista is collaborating with Amigos de Tanzania to build a library and finish the first stage of the Baobab Children's Home.

“Through the Atauchi Project Africa, El Naturalista is betting on education,” says Mª Paz Díaz de Rada of Atauchi Project. “We believe that education is the most efficient means for the men and women of Africa to make progress and to achieve a just and equalitarian society that promotes and defends fundamental rights.”

El Naturalista designates a share of the profits from every shoe sold to Project Atauchi. To date, El Naturalista has donated more than 150.000 Euros (approximately $ 218,000) to care for and educate children in Peru. The company's current project in Arequipa, Peru, is to build “The City of Hope”, a home for over one hundred disabled and abandoned children.
