December 12th, 2012 – Dane Jackson has won the 2nd annual Whitewater Grand Prix in Chile this week recapturing the title for the second time and making him the only title-holder to date of the annual event. The win was the 19-year old Jackson's first in the Jackson Kayak Karma, the new river running and creek boating offering launched this past November.

The Whitewater Grand Prix is a unique multi-staged event that brings the top athletes in whitewater together in the most demanding whitewater environments on the globe ensuring all whitewater skills are tested. It ran from December 2nd through 14th and included 26 of whitewater's top men and 7 of the top female paddlers in the world taking the stage in Chile.

The Grand Prix event series travelled through five different regions challenging competitors to different river types as well as different races. The event included steep creeks near and North of Pucon where complex descents, waterfalls and technical skills were challenged in the three first stages. From there the event and competitors moved to the Patagonia region and the Futaleufu River which challenged racers with its massive waves, long continuous whitewater.

Jackson consistently stayed in the top 4 positions over the first three stages before cementing his win by capturing the final two stages on the Futaleufu. The Jackson Kayak Karma provided both the speed and the maneuverability in all stages and appeared twice in the top 10 with Canadian Joel Kowalski finishing 7th over all in a Karma.

"I was psyched to win my second Grand Prix and participate with so many amazing athletes." States Dane Jackson, "This has been a very positive experience for paddlers and can't wait for the next one this Spring".

"After a late summer release, the Karma has already begun turning heads on the rivers world wide," states Dane Jackson. "I was amazed at the Karma's versatility in this competition, bringing it into both creek style and big water races is a game changer for me."

"Dane's got the skills and when he has the desire,he'll always do well," states Eric Jackson, proud father and Jackson Kayak President, "He has a lot of passion and it's showing in his results."
