Dagger Green Boat Dominates Green River Race

Dagger Green Boat is the kayak of choice for 15 of the top 20 paddlers in the iconic Green River Race, including first place finisher and Team Dagger athlete, Pat Keller.
Publish date:

Easley, S.C. – The 13th annual Green River Race took place this past weekend near Saluda, North Carolina. Many paddlers consider this event the highlight of the competitive season, though just having a clean run is a success in and of itself. If numbers are any indication in this year's race, the Dagger Green Boat was the boat to beat.

The Green Boat was the kayak of choice for four of the top five finishers, and 15 of the top 20 finishers in the Long K1 division. Team Dagger athlete Pat Keller, paddling a Green Boat, logged in the fastest time of any division. Fellow Dagger athlete, and last year's first place finisher, Andrew Holcombe, paddled the Green Boat to a respectable fifth place finish overall.

The eponymous kayak, named in honor of the iconic race, is available to retail customers for the first time this fall. Its combination of speed, agility and responsiveness makes it competitive with shorter boats in the creeking class; while it's length (nearly 12 feet) and high volume (95 gallons) offer stability, comfort and forgiveness for river-running and multi-day trips.

Truly a one of a kind boat, the Green Boat offers high performance and speed for just about any type of river. MSRP: $1085.00.
