NEW YORK, N.Y. (Feb. 11, 2010) – The Wacoal Sports Science Corporation (WSSC), makers of CW-X® Conditioning Wear (www.cw-x.com), is proud that Mark Grimmette, U.S. Olympic doubles luge competitor and CW-X sponsored athlete, has been named U.S. Olympic flag bearer at the 2010 Olympics. He will carry the stars and stripes at the head of the U.S. Olympic team during opening ceremonies in Vancouver on Feb. 12, to be covered by NBC (check local listings).

Grimmette, 39, and his partner, Brian Martin, 36, have teamed to become the most successful luge duo in U.S. history, winning three World Cup titles, an Olympic bronze medal in 1998, and a silver medal in 2002.

"I was incredibly surprised when Brian told me, and I'm still trying to process it all. To be the person leading the U.S. team into the opening ceremony is just such a great honor," he said in a statement from the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Grimmette is a five-time Olympian and will be the third luge athlete to carry the flag into the Olympic opening ceremony. His predecessors are Frank Masley in 1984 and Cammy Myler in 1994.

Grimmette and Martin are both beneficiaries of CW-X's Adopt An Athlete program. They receive funding and CW-X Conditioning Wear in which to train and compete.

“We're doubly proud,” said WSSC's John L.A. Wilson, president and COO. “Not only has Mark relied upon our product for training and as a first layer next to his skin during competition, but the honor is based upon a vote of his Olympic peers, something I'm sure is a thrill for him as much as it is for the entire CW-X family.”

Wacoal Sports Science has been issued numerous patents for CW-X technology – 11 in the U.S., 16 in Japan and nine in Europe. CW-X has been extensively tested and proven in competition by Olympics medalists, cyclists in the Tour de France, and climbers on two separate and successful Mt. Everest expeditions.

Wacoal Sports Science Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Wacoal Corp. (NASDAQ: WACLY), one of the world's largest manufacturers of intimate apparel. It is headquartered in New York City at 136 Madison Avenue. For more information: 212 743 9673; jwilson@cw-x.com; www.cw-x.com.
