Cocona Technology, Inc., the Boulder, Colorado inventor and marketer of innovative fabric technologies, has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Hoyu Textile Company of Taiwan. The lawsuit contends that Hoyu is trading on the goodwill of the Cocona® brand by the use of “Cocol”, a brand name that is confusingly similar.

Cocona Technology, Inc. is concerned that this impersonating technology is untested, uncertified and will not perform up to expectations, resulting in disappointment by end-users and market confusion.

Cocona® fabrics and yarns use natural technology™ that embeds activated carbon derived from recycled coconut shells permanently into fabrics. Cocona® Technology, Inc. has been issued several patents and has registered its Cocona® trademark in many countries, including Taiwan where the lawsuit was filed.
