Sofia has been skiing in Alberta and British Columbia ever since, competing in numerous freestyle and freeski competitions making the podium almost every time.
In 2010-11, she began competing at the provincial level and placed 12th in moguls and 6th in Half Pipe at only 8 years old. She was a forerunner in the Alberta Winter Game Qualifiers and due to her age she was scored unofficially, executing one of the fastest runs and completed a perfect 360. During the 2010-13 seasons she won 9 Gold Medals, placed 1st in all Mogul & Slopestyle Competitions, Rail Jams, and received a Bronze in Big Mountain Freeskiing contest, competing against much older athletes. The same year she stomped her first on snow front flips at Mt. Norquay and COP and completed a 720. At the age of nine she qualified her front flips and at the age of 10, back flips and 900 which made her the youngest female ever to put these tricks under her belt. In the last couple of years she competed in several AFP open events in WOMEN AMATEUR or WOMEN PRO categories and is the first child athlete in Canada who upgraded her self to these categories at this young age. She got the podium every time.
The next Olympics and XGames are definitely something she is gearing toward and she is working very hard on mastering her skills and having never missed a day of training. Currently her all-world ranking is #70 in Slopestyle and she is the youngest athlete on BC provincial development team. She currently qualified such off-axis tricks as corks 5,7,9, mysties, rodeo and she is working on doubles. She just turned 12.
