Catalyst Outdoor Guides Win National Awards

Hold onto that mail! The next booklet you receive from a local outdoor retailer may be a national award winner. Catalyst Communication took Gold and Silver for two of its "magalogs" - the 2005 Cycling Guide and the Fall 2005 Outdoor Guide.

Hold onto that mail! The next booklet you receive from a local outdoor retailer may be a national award winner.

At the Annual Catalog and Multichannel Merchant Awards at McCormick place, Chicago, publishers Catalyst Communication won two medals for its outdoor industry guides.

Catalyst's 2005 Cycling Guide earned Gold while the company's Fall 2005 Outdoor Guide won Silver.

The competition attracted hundreds of entrants and is recognized for the rigorous, three rounds of judging. Standards are high and some categories have no final winner.

Other awards to outdoor industry members include Patagonia with a Consumer Apparel Silver for their Fall 2005 catalog, LL Bean won two Golds, and Orvis took home a silver in Sporting Goods.

Catalyst's Guides pioneered the “magalog” concept of combining non-commercial tips with product messages as powerful traffic/sales driver for retailers. The Guides are extremely customized enabling each retailer's edition to include that store's branding and the outdoor brands they carry.
