Pearl Izumi, a worldwide leading manufacture of run, bike and triathlon apparel and shoes, today announced that Olympic-distance triathlete standout Cameron Dye has signed on for an additional two years as a Pearl Izumi-sponsored athlete.

Beginning his sponsorship with Pearl Izumi in 2010, Dye raced just one year as an amateur before moving up into the professional ranks. Since then, his racing prowess has continued to climb, with an impressive six wins under his belt in 2012, including Rev3 Costa Rica, the Boulder Peak 5150 and the overall winner for the Race to the Toyota Cup.

“Cameron Dye is a legit badass on the race course and an awesome guy to have be a part of our brand. Tim DeBoom brought Cam into the Pearl family and it's been a great relationship from the beginning. Cam has really been an important part of the team, not just racing but also helping with ongoing product development in TRI, Run and Ride,” said Global Marketing Director Geoff Shaffer, “We are psyched to keep the partnership going with him and be able to support his continued growth and domination in this ever-expanding sport.”

A Boulder, CO native, Dye began his athletic career as a swimmer, swimming for the University of Iowa, eventually breaking into the non-drafting triathlon racing scene. He holds the fastest bike split ever-- 53:12 at the Olympic-distance Los Angeles International Triathlon in 2011-- and is sitting on 9 professional wins to date.
