It's easy being green, especially amid the lush forests and mountains of the Southeast. To highlight the region's eco-friendly opportunities and environmental awareness, Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine is planning its inaugural Green Issue—the first and only comprehensive guide to eco-conscious living in the Southeast. Specifically, the Green Issue will include:

• Eco-Travel and Adventure in the Southeast
• Green Pioneers in the Southeast, including an interview with Charlottesville's Dave Matthews Band
• Top Green Cities in the Southeast
• Green Energy and Transportation
• Environmentally Friendly Gear and Clothing
• Green Directory of Companies and Environmental Organizations
• 10 Easy Ways to Green Your Life
• Food for Thought: Nutrition, Organics, and Locally-Grown Food
• Top 10 Environmental Issues Facing the Southeast
• Green Makeover: One Family, One Week of Sustainable Living
• Green Money: Socially Responsible Investing and the BRO Green Fund

Blue Ridge Outdoors also puts its money where its mouth is. The magazine will contribute a percentage of its monthly sales to the BRO Green Fund, a grassroots environmental fund aimed at protecting Southeastern forests and public lands. July's Green Fund beneficiary is the Appalachian Trail Conservancy.

The Green Issue will be published in July and distributed free at thousands of locations throughout the Southeast. Blue Ridge Outdoors reaches a quarter-million readers from D.C. to Atlanta and is the country's largest regional outdoor publication.

For more information about the Green Issue, contact Blue Ridge Outdoors President Blake DeMaso at 434-817-2755 x 17 or blake@blueridgeoutdoors.com.
