NEW YORK, NY (June 1st, 2006) – The world famous Crumpler bags is holding its first annual US Beer for Bags sale from June 3rd - June 11th at its two Manhattan locations, 45 Spring St. and 49 8th Ave. During the sale beer will be accepted as currency instead of cash or credit.
While other companies offer the standard sales, discounts and reductions, Crumpler will encourage shoppers to haul cases, 6 packs and 40 oz bottles of beer into its stores in payment for top quality laptop, messenger and camera bags. The amber liquid has always been held in the highest regard by Crumpler and its employees and is seen as a worthy exchange.
A selection of the company's finest products, including the Barney Rustle Blanket messenger bag, the McBain's Lovechild laptop sleeve and The Bundle photo bag will be offered in exchange for particular varieties and quantities of beer. For example, one case of Leffe & 1 Bottle of Chimay can be exchanged for the company's most popular messenger bag, the Complete Seed, representing a saving of over $30 for punters.
Company spokesman John Thursday explained ‘the idea of the beer for bags sale is to approach the annual sale concept in a most unusual manner. We aim to challenge consumers' expectations in a fun way. This promotion has been a terrific success in Australia and we are looking forward to similar rewards in New Yorkâ€.
What will Crumpler do with all that beer? At the end of the promotion, participants will be invited to imbibe and appreciate the nector of the gods with crumpler staff at a party.
Beer For Bags June 3rd – 11th
There's no other sale like it in the world.
Crumpler was created by three bike messengers, Dave Roper, Will Miller and Stuart Crumpler in Melbourne Australia in 1995 in response to a need for durable and visible bags that was not being met. Looking to branch into other markets, Crumpler began designing bags for laptops, photo and video equipment and all kinds of e-vices. Crumpler bags are available at their retail stores, online at www.crumplerbags.com, and through selected specialty retailers nationwide.
