Boulder, CO – Backpacker magazine, (www.backpacker.com), the authority on outdoor adventure, will launch its hugely popular Get Out More Mobile Tour beginning in April 2008. The Tour, led by seasoned ambassadors Randy and Sheri Propster, will visit 55 venues in 35 states, reaching more than 55,000 hikers, campers and other outdoor aficionados with their expert advice and inspiration.

Get Out More, now in its 8th year, is a time proven, one-of-a kind tour that brings the pages of Backpacker to life for audiences nationwide. From April to November, the Get Out More Road Team will offer in-depth, 60-minute presentations and interactive outdoor excursions at dozens of retail stores, festivals and college campuses across the country. Presentations will include topics ranging from how to plan an outdoor adventure and choosing the best outdoor gear for your trip to survival skills and backcountry navigation tips.

New this year, the Get Out More Road Team is offering employee training workshops to outdoor retailers. This is an opportunity for Backpacker to share the latest in gear and product trends with local community resources.

“The Get Out More Tour provides a unique opportunity for Backpacker to increase participation in outdoor activities," says Backpacker editor-in-chief Jonathan Dorn, "Through the Tour, we are able to visit readers in their own backyards, provide trail-tested advice, and ultimately make the places that our magazine celebrates more accessible."

The headline sponsor of this year's Tour is Woolrich®, the Original Outdoor Clothing Company®. “Woven throughout Woolrich is a passion for the outdoors and The Get Out More Tour exemplifies our commitment to today's active outdoor lifestyle," said Tim Joseph, marketing and media director for Woolrich. “We are proud to sponsor The Get Out More Tour and help educate consumers about the skills and equipment they need to enhance their enjoyment of the great outdoors.”

Other Tour sponsors include Climashield®, CORDURA® fabric, FalconGuides®, LEKI®, Brunton®, Gerber®, Natrapel®, Nikwax®, Nuun®, Ryders Eyewear®, Sea to Summit®.
