180s LLC, is pleased to congratulate the students and mentors of the Baltimore-based b4Students program upon successful completion and graduation.

The five year b4students program was designed to connect Baltimore City high school students to local businesses so they could develop meaningful knowledge and experience while exposing them to new opportunities. The students were taught and mentored in business processes, assisting in the design, implementation, and management of consumer products. The students then graduated into actual product development and sold them into the market.

The five year program goals were exceeded by the student's hard work and dedication. The b4student program will graduate better students who understand citizenship, professionalism, responsibility and see opportunity through hard work and planning.

“Our program allows high school students to experience life through a business environment, first, teaching them how to dream and develop goals and then gives them the inspiration to translate their dreams into reality'” said Billie Malcolm Director of the b4students program. “For the last five years, 180s has so graciously afforded nearly 30 inner-city youth the incredible hands-on opportunity to learn how a product is conceived and then brought to market. The best part is the profit made from the kids' own ear warmer sales goes directly to their schools and toward their own education-related expenses,” Malcolm concluded.

Corporate partners play a key role in mentoring b4students through innovative workplace programs, meaningful one-on-one interaction and student advocacy. Through b4students prototype programs, one hundred percent of students received their high school diplomas and seventy four percent were accepted to college. Other corporate sponsors include Constellation Energy, DAP Inc, EntreQuest, DLA Piper, The Daily Record and Catapult Learning.
