(New England, USA – December 11, 2020) New England based luxury Alpine Sportswear label Alps & Meters has joined in partnership with the Share Winter Foundation. A non-profit dedicated to improving the lives, health, and fitness of youth through winter sports, Share Winter sponsors a myriad of local ski and snowboard programs throughout the United States ensuring that financial support and an inviting outlook is extended to participants who are traditionally denied access to these sports. The collaborative efforts of Alps & Meters and Share Winter will form a key pillar of Alps & Meters Values-in-Action program which is centered upon extending the reach of the company’s mission to uphold and spread the tradition of alpine sport.
“At Alps & Meters we continue to reflect deeply about the freedom that all of us have been afforded through the wonderful sport of skiing and, for which, we often take for granted during the shuffle of our lives from one winter season to the next” says Founder/CEO, Louis Joseph, former Global Director of Strategy & Innovation at PUMA/Kering. “Having first interacted with Share Winter CEO, Constance Beverley, during a United States Ski Team forum, I was immediately drawn to her passion, gravitas, and sense of purpose.”
Alps & Meters understands the fortunate means that have enabled such access and recognizes the barriers of great height that pose significant skiing limitations for so many, and most especially, for under resourced youth throughout the country. Alps & Meters is committed to ensuring that the traditions of skiing, which in many ways are expressive of the idea of freedom itself, are accessible and inviting to all. Through means of listening, education, and collaboration with Share Winter, Alps & Meters is committed to translating our values to action in an effort to reduce the barriers preventing diverse participation within the sport we love.
“We are so thankful for the support from the Alps & Meters team,” says Constance Beverley, CEO of Share Winter. “Winter sports like snowboarding and skiing have brought joy to so many people and more should have access to it. A more diverse and welcoming community can only benefit the industry and ensure long- term growth. This shared vision pushes us one step further towards our goal of sharing winter with 100,000 youth by 2028.”
