Via satellite phone from his rowboat in the Atlantic Ocean, Erden Eruç – the dynamic adventurer determined to circumnavigate the globe by human-powered efforts alone – made a special check-in call to contributing sponsor BOB Trailers, Inc. on April 13.

The call came in to Damon Noller, vice president of sales and marketing for BOB, who relayed the report that Eruç is currently 500 miles east of St. Lucia, a small island bordered by the Atlantic and the Caribbean. Eruç's current travels are part of the non-profit organization Around-n-Over's Six Summits Project – a human-powered, self-propelled quest to row the world's oceans, bicycle to the site of the highest mountains on six different continents and climb to each peak's summit.

The latest rowing portion of Eruç's adventure began in October 2005 in Lisbon, Portugal and will conclude at the Limon province of Costa Rica in late April. After either walking or bicycling the 138-mile distance across the island, Eruç will then resume rowing in the Pacific Ocean toward his next destination – Ecuador.

The BOB Ibex – a bicycle cargo trailer that carries up to 70 pounds of gear and offers 3” of adjustable suspension – has been provided to Eruç by BOB and will accompany him during each cycling leg of the Six Summits Project.
