Adventure Racing legend Mike Kloser launched his company Out There USA only a few short years ago providing packs like never before seen for the adventure racing community. TeamSOG racer and Primal Quest Race Director Chris Caul claims from the day the AS-1 arrived he was blown away by the functionality and performance designed into the unit.Chris has worn the pack in a myriad of multi-day races and tons of training days/nights claiming the pack was near perfection in design. Kloser followed the release of the AS-1 with a smaller pack called the MS-1 offering the same great features for a sprint length adventure race.

Both packs easily cross over into the backpacking community offering a endless compartments to store your gear, stay organized, and easily access it on the trail. We honestly feel the MS-1 is the #1 pack on the market for a day hike. If you aren't keen on multi-day packs with built in frames the AS-1 is for you. We're not joking the amount of great you can fit in the AS-1 is crazy. Our crew comfortably carried around an entire HD interview setup, equipment, and all the free stuff we acquired at Outdoor Retailer in the pack.

The AS-1 saw rave reviews from users with minor recommendations to bring the pack to perfection. Kloser has listened to the feed back from users and delivered with the AS-2. This durable silicon treated pack is just as water resistant as ever. Now featuring light weight perforated foam padding for back support and new mesh covered perforated shoulder straps. The mesh covered foam offers enhanced comfort compared to the AS-1. Mike has eliminated some of the mesh on the front of the pack making organization in the multiple compartments easier. The pack comes in at 40oz holding 30liters externally and 10liters externally.

Take out sewing at bottom of back straps
The pack works amazingly well and Mike plan's on releasing a women's specific version in the future. In the mean time if you feel your body frame may just be a little bit too skinny for the current length of the straps you can pull the sewing out at the bottom of the shoulder straps. Once you do so fold the should strap under and resew it further up shorting the strap and making it fit closer to your body. As he said "perfection one pack at a time" and he is keeping the ladies in mind!
