Adventure Racing Series Launches YouTube Channel

The East Coast Adventure Racing Series has quickly become one of the most important companies involved with Adventure Racing. This week, they've launched a new YouTube channel featuring programming of Adventure Races and other outdoor adventures!

The East Coast Adventure Racing Series, more commonly referred to as “ECARS”, is (as the name may suggest) a series of Adventure Races held on the Eastern Coast of the United States. The ECARS coalition consists of eight race production companies working together to grow the sport of Adventure Racing in a positive direction. These companies are NYARA, GOALS, Odyssey, Rev3, Pangea, Gung Ho, Untamed New England, and American Adventure Sports.

This week, a new channel dedicated to ECARS and all of their thrilling adventures was launched on YouTube. The channel already provides adventure sports programming, including trailers and a six mini-episode series telling the story of the 2011 Equinox Traverse, a 48-hour nonstop Adventure Race held in western Pennsylvania. The show follows closely as two of the top Adventure Racing teams in the U.S. race for the win. It’s a great watch for anyone who loves adventure sports, or those who are interested in learning what Adventure Racing is all about! In the coming months, the ECARS YouTube channel will be featuring a full one-hour episode on the 24-hour Lionheart Adventure Race, as well as the ECARS Championship Race, which took place in October. As for what to expect through this summer: the channel will feature programming covering all of the 2012 races in the ECARS. Even though 2011 was the inaugural year for ECARS, with more than $40,000 in gear and cash prizes, the ECARS cash and gear sponsorship already exceeds that of any Adventure Racing series in the country! For its second year, the ECARS prize purse has expanded even more. The current sponsors for the ECARS include SOG Specialty Knives and Tools, Darn Tough Socks, OutThereUSA Packs, Sherpa Adventure Gear, Greenlayer Apparel, Kigo Footwear, Scott Sports Shoes, Switch Eyewear, Princeton Tec Headlamps, and Hyalite Equipment.

Good news for companies interested in gaining access to the Adventure Racing community: The ECARS Coalition is still accepting sponsors in several categories, including heart rate monitors, hydration systems, mountain bike sponsors, biking gear (including apparel, accessories, and shoes), kayak apparel and equipment, and climbing gear. The great part about sponsor participation with ECARS is that the ECARS staff work with companies to create a partnership that is beneficial to both companies, providing a complete 360 partnership, featuring sponsorship companies at ALL American Adventure Sport races, camps, clinics, trade shows, social media campaigns, commercials, and sweepstakes.

Take time to check out the new YouTube channel by ECARS. You won't regret introducing yourself to this amazing sport! Athletes looking to join the adventure world, race directors looking to join the series, or potential sponsors looking for new opportunities, contact American Adventure Sports at
