Milner, BC: Over 1300 people attended the 23rd Annual West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium at Port Townsend, Washington. Highlights included the Reel Paddle Film Festival and a slide show by Nigel Dennis on his circumnavigation of South Georgia Island.

“It's a fantastic and unique event – 1400 feet of beach demo's, ongoing instructional classes, and fantastic social events continue to draw a wide range of paddlers to this symposium”, says Michael Pardy, Executive Director for the Trade Association of Paddlesports.

Nikki Rekman coordinated the event for the Trade Association of Paddlesports, and she credits the support of the West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium Organizing Committee and a large group of volunteers from the region for the ongoing growth and success of the event.

“We're already planning the 2007 symposium” says Nikki, “And it promises to be equally successful, with an expanded instructors gathering, and the ongoing support of our members and sponsors.” Details of the 2007 West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium will be available at www.wcsks.org. Dates for 2007 are September 14, 15 & 16, 2007.

The West Coast Sea Kayak Symposium has been bringing manufacturers, retailers, and instructors together with paddlers from the Pacific Northwest and beyond since 1983.
