BALTIMORE, Md. (November 30, 2009) -- Looking to drive sales during the holiday shopping season of its Tec Touch™ gloves that easily facilitate the use of a cell phone, PDA or MP3 player in the cold, 180s (www.180s.com), today launched the “Gloves for Addicts” program, an online campaign directed at consumers “addicted” to their personal communication tools. The campaign, hosted on www.GlovesforAddicts.com, proclaims that freezing one's fingers while texting can easily be prevented with 180s' proprietary Tec Touch™ technology, enabling people to use personal touch devices without taking off their gloves. The campaign, ending on January 9th, invites consumers to visit the Gloves for Addicts Facebook page and submit videos “confessing their technological addiction,” which are then voted upon by other visitors. The “biggest addict” wins a $300 iTunes gift card, and two runners-up will win a $100 iTunes gift card.

The Tec Touchâ„¢ technology uses fabric pods located on the index finger and thumb, enabling consumers to operate most touch screens. 180s has over 20 styles of gloves for men and women in both lifestyle and performance categories, the widest selection on the marketplace today. Prices begin at $20.

We wanted to have some fun, and leverage the ever-increasing need to communicate.”

Videos can be submitted until January 9, 2010. The winner will be chosen on January 10.

In addition to the contest for iTunes gift cards, visitors to the 180s.com website can receive 10 percent off the purchase of Tec Touch™ gloves by entering the promo code “ADDICTS.”

The campaign was developed by creative agency Stick and Move, based in Philadelphia. “We wanted to tap into people's love for their iPhones and Blackberries, ” said Steve O'Connell, chief creative officer at Stick and Move. “While enabling addiction is usually an unwise move in most situations, this actually seemed like the perfect way to position Tec Touch™.”
