This season Mixer is supported by several companies, who have generously donated items for the “Come and Get Outfitted†raffle. Products Provided by: 13 Companies are donating: Concept III, Chaos, Kingwhale, Hyperbola, Cordura® Brand Fabrics, Gramicci, Teflon, Schoeller, Rogers Corporation, Fits Sock Company, PORON® and Outlast®.
The Design Center, also sponsored by Outdoor Retailer and the FabricLink Network, is where visiting attendees and exhibitors can see a broad display of fabrics, trim and zipper samples from supplier exhibitors. Designers and manufacturers can browse the Design Center for inspiration and find the latest product developments and component materials currently available in the market.
“Every year the event has been growing and allowing more of the suppliers to get to know each and exchange ideas. The OR show is a fast, intense time for buyers and sellers alike, with minimal time available to network.†explains Kathy Swantko, founder of FabricLink.com Network. “This is why, this Networking and Beer event is so popular. It's held at the end of the 2nd day, when everyone can find time to drop by for a beer and chat.â€
The Textile Community Mixer also provides an opportunity to see top student designers from major design schools across the county preparing their original outerwear prototypes for the Project OR competition. The Project OR competition is located next to the Design Center.
Come and join in on all the fun! Networking, Beer and Getting Outfitted!

About Project OR:
As part of the Project OR Planning Committee, the FabricLink Network assists in the selection of five design students from top design programs around the country to produce a garment prototype that is original. The students' innovative use of performance and eco-friendly materials, have a practical application for the outdoor market.

Once initial garment designs are complete on the first day, contestants turn their drawings into products using the latest fabrics, zippers and other clothing components provided by participating supplier exhibitor sponsors. With sourcing complete, contestants spend the remainder of the 48-hour deadline at their work-stations (equipped with sewing machines, cutting tables, pressing equipment and tools) building their final prototypes. The winner will be announced at 3:00pm on Day 3 of the show.
