- TRX, the training company and creators of Suspension Training bodyweight exercise, announced the expansion of their team to include new Chief Financial Officer Tom Shaw and new Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Ericka Gettman Karner. With more than 16 years of financial expertise, Shaw is a seasoned executive, most recently occupying the CFO position at the Scooter Store. Other posts include CEO/CFO at Anchor Blue, CFO at Papyrus, as well as extensive international experience as a controller for BEA Systems. Shaw received his bachelor’s degree in zoology and MBA in finance, both from Miami University. Karner brings an extensive knowledge of the fitness industry. Most recently, Karner was responsible for managing several fitness brands as a business leader at Beachbody, LLC. Prior to Beachbody, Karner held senior marketing positions at Roll Global LLC, Kraft Foods and Whirlpool. Karner received her bachelor’s degree in economics and business from UCLA and her MBA in marketing and strategic management from the University of Chicago. TRX was founded by CEO Randy Hetrick.
- X-1 Audio, Inc., which specializes in waterproof and sweatproof headphones, has appointed Dawna Stone, founder of Women’s Running Magazine, to its board of directors. Stone brings more than 10 years of health and wellness expertise to her seat on the board. Prior to joining X-1 Audio, Stone’s experience began at large corporations where she served as chief marketing officer for Marinemax, Inc., a $700 million publicly traded company. In addition to several senior positions at various U.S. companies, Stone served as senior VP of operations for the Active Sports Network. Stone received her undergraduate degree from University of California at Berkeley and she completed her master’s degree in business administration at University of California at Los Angeles. In addition to being a mother of two, Stone is a successful entrepreneur, runner and Ironman.
- Pivotal 5, which specializes in wellness and handheld fitness products, announced the hiring of Craig Bradley as vice president of sales for fitness facilities and specialty markets. Bradley brings more than 16 years of global experience in the fitness equipment, health club and fitness programming industries. While leading sales efforts at SCW Fitness Education/Les Mills Midwest and Power Plate, Bradley achieved strong sales growth and exceptional profitability. Bradley will be responsible for driving the continued momentum of Pivotal 5 brands Natural Fitness, Rejuvenation, Prevent + Perform + Recover and KettleWorx, with a particular focus on expanding revenue and distribution opportunities within fitness facilities and specialty sporting goods retailers.
- Med-Fit Systems, Inc., manufacturer of Nautilus commercial fitness and SportKAT balance assessment products, announced that the company has hired Brian Jamison as regional sales manager, Southwest. With 22 years of experience, Jamison is a veteran in the fitness industry. He entered the business soon after he earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Wellness & Fitness Management from Southern Nazarene University. During Jamison’s tenure as Regional Manger with Schwinn and Nautilus, he succeeded in bringing Med-Fit Systems on board as a dealer for both brands.
